Do you want to play basketball against your favorite teachers and peers? Do you want to get out of bear time, 6th, and 7th period? November 19, PALs will host a basketball tournament in the big gym during the latter half of the school day benefiting PALs and their many projects. Costing $5 to attend and $10 to play, tickets go on sale on November 10 through November 19, before school in the foyer and at lunch.

Each matchup will be 15 minutes of 3v3 on a halfcourt. Regular basketball rules apply, and the referees will be reliable  PALs students. Two games will run in the big gym on both halves of the court ensuring an exciting show of skill and talent at all times for spectators. In the case of a tie at the end, a free-throw shootout will occur. The tournament is scheduled to have a 16 team elimination bracket with the winning team playing a teacher team. Concessions will be available with PALs selling drinks, chips, candy, and pizza.

All proceeds of the tournament and concessions will go to PALs to fund projects such as the canned food drive, winter bash, and the community garden. If PALs makeover their intended goal of a net profit of $1000 all extra proceeds will be donated to a local charity chosen by Mr.Jaschek. They are also planning a charity kickball tournament for the spring with all proceeds going to a charity.

PALs is excited to host the game and is hoping to have a big turnout. They’ve put in a lot of work organizing the event. It is sure to be fun for spectators and players, so get your friends together to come to watch or participate on November 19.
