Salutatorian of the Class of 2021, Caitlyn Ingram.
May 21, 2021
Graduating as the salutatorian of her class, Caitlyn Ingram has had a tremendous high school academic, athletic and social career. “The will to achieve my goal came from aspiring to give a speech at graduation,” said Ingram. “I knew the difficulty it would take, but I never stopped putting in the work to achieve what I had set out to do. I also wanted to make myself and my family proud while preparing myself for my future.” Now that Ingram’s motivation to attain her goals has been achieved, she can’t help but get excited about the future. Ingram plans on attending Texas A&M University to major in Business Honors at the Mays Business School and hopes to attend law school after completing her undergraduate degree to pursue defense and real estate law.
Ingram has felt the impact from many teachers on her academic career and maturation as a human being so much that she couldn’t choose one teacher alone. “I will never forget Mr. Braswell’s kindness, Mr. Jimenez’s ability to instill a desire to learn, Mrs. Hamrick’s being a second stricter mom to us that’s honestly what we needed, Mrs. Dollery’s funny stories and ability to always keep us in check, Mr. Grimes stepping into a group of rascal freshman and bringing joy (along with real learning) to freshman Biology, Mrs. Land always checking in on me and making an AP class
fun, and Coach Champagne for never letting anyone feel left out or that we weren’t good enough, Coach Rollins for her commitment and for being there for me through the good times and bad, and Coach Creek for believing in me,” said Ingram. “Thank you, each of you.”
